![]() I would argue there wasnt a reason for this game. The tech level system is pointless and pigeonholes players into playing the game a certain way and ultimately treats every ship like a stepping stone to a better one. Sovereignty is going to be rolled out in phases despite NetEase saying it would be ready this month. Are there enough of those? Can those who are here sustain the game with real money omega?Įxploration and Wormholes plus Dscan and Probing should have had higher priority. a dedicated and slightly psycotic player. This sort of game demands a very specific type of player. Is it not possible that maybe there was not sufficient reason to create one. I wonder if there was even a reason to create a mobile Version of EVE. Pretty much agree with most people who have commented already so i will go a different route and this may get controversial. Been playing since day one and had to go reading up and watching youtube to fill in the knowledge gap. The most difficult balance is that going after population 4 typically annoys population 2 and 3. Only the developers know the answers to those questions. Will the game improve enough to be able to bring back population 1 and win over population 4? Is population 2 and 3 enough to sustain this game long term? There just wasn't enough meat in the game to keep them interested with so many other games out there. Those in this group who didn't have some ties to EO are mostly gone now. These players made up a good number of the launch players. This group moves from game to game on all different devices. It's going to be an uphill battle to attract these players again.ĥ) General Gamers. Eve game mechanics don't work well with this audience which is accustomed to much different mechanics. This group left the game in droves starting with the low-sec gate camp fiasco. ![]() This is the group that's most important to Netease (Group 1A) because it's huge. Like the number of the Former EO players, the number of these players has declined slightly, but not as much as other populations.Ĥ) General Mobile Gamers. Many are players from mobile-first regions where high-level gaming on mobile is as common as high-level PC and console gaming. Out of the players Netease most wants to attract, these players are Group 1B. ![]() Those who departed decided to leave as they saw that Echoes time commitments were going to be pretty hardcore as well.ģ) Couldn't Play EO. Some are gone, but many are still around. This is an important core audience, but it's relatively small. Many also have a little money and don't mind paying their Omega. This is their way to do Eve while living their life. They don't really like the way other mobile games play. These players are stalwarts because they have no place else to go. Many of these players aren't going to return, but they aren't a critical population for Echoes success.Ģ) Former EO players. They're watching to see what happens while they keep their Omega characters running as placeholders many using the cheap PLEX they bought at game start to do so. Those who aren't holding high positions in corps, and even some who are, have put the game on hold. Here's what I've seen happen with these different populations.ġ) EO Players. (I'm in this group.)ģ) Players who were interested in EO but could not play because of time, $$$, device requirements etc. People who played EO but stopped playing due to life changes and time commitments. ![]() Players who continue to play EO now as well as Echoes.Ģ) Former EO players. I've seen five key audiences in the game.ġ) EO Players. Here's a little more in-depth assessment. ![]()
